Designations

Professional designations signal a commitment to your career while representing accomplishment and expertise within the insurance and financial services community. Through a longstanding partnership with The American College, NAIFA offers classroom training for the LUTC Fellow (LUTCF) designation and the Financial Services Specialist (FSS) designation. In addition, the Horizons program allows you to complete the CFP® Certification Curriculum, while earning six courses toward the ChFC® and CLU® designations. Invest in your future by earning a professional designation through NAIFA and The American College.

The American College and NAIFA have further strengthened the prestigious LUTCF and FSS designations by adding a continuing education requirement in ethics. For all new designees receiving their credential on or after 1/1/2010, three hours of ethics-related CE will now be required every two years in order for designees to continue using the LUTCF or FSS mark.

The new CE requirement may be satisfied in one of two ways:

  • Take three hours of state-approved, ethics-related CE from any vendor approved by the licensee’s state; or

  • Take three hours of ethics-related CE from The American College. Regardless of whether or not the course is approved for CE in the licensee’s state, it will satisfy this requirement. For course information, visit www.TheAmericanCollege.edu/Ethics

The initial reporting period for this new requirement will begin on 1/1/2012 and end on 12/31/2013.
